Saving a Google Doc as a Different Document Type

  1. Write your document as  you normally would, save to it a known place on your google drive.
  2. Click on the File Menu and select Download.
  3. Choose the type of document that you would like to save your Google Doc as:
    1. Microsoft Word – DOCX – This is another highly common and shareable format for documents.
    2. OpenDocument Text – ODT – A less common opensource document format.
    3. Rich Text Format – RTF – A file format that can retain minimal formatting, but  usage across most platforms.
    4. Portable Document Format – PDF – A static document type that can be opened on almost all device platforms.
    5. Plain Text  – TXT – A text only format that can be read on all platforms, but contains absolutely no formatting.
    6. Hypertext Markup Language – HTML,ZIPPED – HTML Webpages that have been structured and compressed together.
    7. Electronic Publication – EPUB – Readable by special Epub readers, widely used for digital publishing of print books.
